However, these models come with the high-output variant, pumping out an exciting 540 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. The reason for switching from a naturally aspirated V8 to a twin-turbocharged inline-six is because the turbocharged engine provides more power while creating less emissions and offering better fuel economy.

The 2025 Ram 1500 lineup offers the all-new Ramcharger, the brand’s first venture into the realm of electric vehicles. Consisting of the aforementioned 3.6L V6 engine, a 130-kilowatt (kW) onboard generator, a 250-kW electric drive module (EDM) on the front axle, and a 238-kW EDM on the rear axle, the Ramcharger’s powertrain is equal parts powerful and efficient.
